Most pilots must complete a flight review every 24 months. A flight review must include at least one hour of ground instruction (covering the basic flight rules in 14 CFR Part 91) and a minimum of one hour of flight instruction.

Galvin instructors tailor your flight review to your background, the types of aircraft you fly, and your typical flying activity. To learn more about our flight review process, see Conducting an Effective Flight Review (free pdf), a brochure from the FAA.

For more background information, see A Pilot’s Guide to the Flight Review (pdf), a free Safety Advisor from the AOPA Air Safety Foundation. You can find additional information and links at Safety Hot Spot: Pilot Proficiency and the Flight Review from AOPA ASF.

If you’re a pilot who hasn’t flown for a year or more, see the Pilots' Guide to Getting Back Into Flying, also from AOPA.
